The Rat Pack is Back! 

On Tuesday evening, join us to relive the days of the Rat Pack with impersonations of the original Vegas legends, Frank, Sammy and Dean, along with a live big band in the Copa Room at Tuscany Suites & Casino. This popular show is now in its twentieth smash year with over 7,000 performances in over 40 states, 4 foreign countries and over two million tickets sold. Tickets are offered at a reduced price of only $60.00 to Well Spouse conference attendees, and are includedas on option on the registration form. Register early as tickets for the show may not be available after 7/31.

On Monday evening, Dr. Zachary White will be our keynote speaker addressing “Communicating Difficult Truths: The Challenges of Explaining Yourself and Your Care Situation”. Dr. White is a WSA Honorary Board member and the author of the recently published book, The Unexpected Journey of Caring: The Transformation from Loved One to Caregiver (copies will be available at the conference). He is also an award-winning professor of communication whose courses address topics such as provider-patient communication,caregiver communication, and the patient experience. As the founder of the caregiver blog and resource “The Unprepared Caregiver” (www.unpreparedcaregiver.com), his original writing voice mixes first-hand experiences, communication expertise, and cultural analysis featuring a care-centered point of view.

 Tuesday’s keynote address will be presented by Cynthia Lim, PhD who will discuss “Survival of a Marriage after Brain Injury”. Ms. Lim is a Well Spouse member who holds a BA in Experimental Psychology from UC Santa Barbara, a Masters in Social-Work from UC Berkeley, and a PhD in Social Welfare from UCLA. She has written articles on caregiving and social welfare  for many publications and has recently published her memoir, Wherever You Are: A Memoir of Love, Marriage & Brain Injury (copies will be available at the conference). Cynthia's husband passed away in May 2018. Planned workshops include a zumba class, compassionate end-of life decisions, men’s/women’s groups, adolescent challenges and more. Representatives from The Alzheimer’s Association will also present workshops on legal planning, financial planning, as well as understanding and responding to dementia-related disorders.  More workshop details will be released as finalized.
