It is with great sadness that we share that WSA Board member Rona Auster passed away this month. She has been a devoted advocate for Well Spouse and spousal caregivers for decades, and stepped up to fill every role we needed over the years - as a longtime Supporting Member, a Support Group Leader, our former President, and most recently as a Board Member. She continued to be integral part of our team in recent years even as her own health brought challenges - including joining us in Washington DC last October at our annual conference and hosting our closing session. She believed providing opportunities to introduce caregivers to one another in person is one of the most important things WSA can offer our community.

Laurel Wittman, WSA Board President, said, "I will fondly remember her kindness and inclusiveness at my first WSA conference in Philly - we chatted in the lobby of the hotel, as she too had been a young caregiver looking for community, and she encouraged me to get involved for all of the other caregivers out there like us."

We offer our condolences to her loved ones. Members of the WSA Board have decided to create a scholarship in her memory for people who'd like to attend one of our conferences. If you'd like to contribute in her honor, please click here and include Rona's name in your donation.
